Volunteering 101
As a vibrant and active parent community, we believe that parental involvement plays a crucial role in creating a positive and enriching environment for our students. To help our new families get started with volunteering, we have outlined our volunteer requirements and helpful information.
VOLUNTEER HOURs
Each family has a 20 hour volunteer requirement (10 hours for single parent households) as outlined in the school handbook. 2 hours of the 20 hour requirement must be satisfied via in-person volunteering at one of our school's marquee events. Any unfulfilled hours are charged to each family's FACTS account at the end of the school year at a rate of $22 per unfulfilled hour.

VIRTUS CERTIFICATION
Volunteers must be Fully Compliant to volunteer in the school during the school day. Fully Compliant includes completing a background check and attending a Virtus class. For questions about VIRTUS certification and to begin the process, please contact Lena Gude.
The general steps to obtain VIRTUS certification are as follows:
- Step 1. Create an account with the Arlington Diocese and submit a background check.
- Step 2. Volunteers will be notified by Ms. Gude to stop by the front office to sign a hard copy of the docusign.
- Step 3. Volunteers will receive an email from the Diocese on how to create an account and sign up for a Virtus session. Volunteers have a 45-day window to attend a Virtus class. This is strictly monitored! If an individual does not attend a class within the 45 days, they will have to update their background check.
